FBI didn’t offer reward for Quiboloy

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation is not offering a monetary reward for information on preacher and FBI most wanted Apollo C. Quiboloy, contrary to a photo recently circulating online.

According to Quiboloy’s FBI profile, tips on the Kingdom of Jesus Christ church founder may be submitted through US FBI offices or American embassies and consulates, but no reward for such is stated.

On Dec. 19, 8:32 p.m., however, Reddit user u/whyhellomrrachel posted on the r/Philippines subreddit a screenshot of an alleged sponsored post by the official FBI Facebook page stating that its New York Division is offering a reward up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of Quiboloy, whose photos accompany the post.

The Reddit post, entitled “LF: Kasama sa Quiboloy Heist,” did not contain a caption clarifying the factual nature of the screenshot, but an earlier publication of the photo marked as satire was posted on Dec. 19, 4:45 p.m. by Karl Delos Santos on the Facebook group House of Representa-thieves: Butasang Pambulsa.

The official FBI Facebook page does not also have any posts or ads that match the screenshot or that announce any monetary reward for information on Quiboloy.

Quiboloy is wanted by the FBI for his alleged participation in human trafficking and was issued a US federal warrant of arrest on Nov. 10, 2021.

As of writing, the Reddit post has at least 715 upvotes and 139 comments. (RR)
