A Facebook page posted a doctored image of a CNN news segment saying Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo is a “fake” vice president and calling her a “whore.”
The Oct. 25 photo by Facebook page Eagle eyes of the Philippines citizen-report bore the text:
The Philippines still has a Fake Vice-President. The fake Philippine VP is also a whore.
It ran the caption:
Ha ha ha SIKAT NA SIKAT PLA TLGA SA ABROAD C LUGAW (Ha ha ha this porridge (Robredo) is really popular abroad)!
A Google reverse image search shows the original photo of Anderson Cooper’s newscast to be from CNN’s breaking news report on the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight 370 on March 8, 2014. The headline of the original photo reads:
Malaysia Airlines jet disappears over Ukraine
Another reverse image search also shows the manipulated photo earlier appeared on Facebook page Para sa Bayan Duterte Kami, on Feb. 11, 2018.
The Supreme Court recently revealed the results of the vice presidential vote recount where Robredo’s lead over rival and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. widened in three provinces by more than 15,000 votes.
The post has since been shared by Facebook pages Samahang maka duterte!! and DUTERTE MARCOS SUPPORTERS, garnering 579 total interactions. (GA, EB, BM)
