An AI-manipulated video of First Lady Liza Marcos has been used in a TikTok video campaigning for former president Rodrigo Duterte's senatorial slate.
The video posted on May 1 by @ManguiaoRhymes combines a clip of reelectionist congressman Bienvenido Abante addressing Vice President Sara Duterte with an altered video of Marcos dancing, accompanied by the text:
“DUTER10 STRAIGHT + TWO TAYO 👊👊👊”
To complete the 12 Senate seats, the text suggests voting for the 10 senatorial candidates endorsed by Duterte for the upcoming midterm elections, alongside two other senatorial aspirants.
The manipulated video was first posted on YouTube on April 28 by Reels Shorts captioned:
Liza Marcos sumayaw sa Rome (Liza Marcos danced in Rome). #ai #bongbongmarcos #bongbongmarcos #funny #duterte #memes
The YouTube video has garnered 59,561 views.
A Google reverse image search confirms the video was digitally altered using a real photo Marcos posted on her Facebook page on April 27 during a trip with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to Rome, where they attended Pope Francis’ funeral at the Vatican, bearing the caption:
Strolling through the streets of Rome with my trusty 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙖 bag - - proudly carrying a piece of home wherever I go!
Rome, Italy | 26 April 2025

The rift between the two camps surfaced in January 2024, when former president Rodrigo Duterte and President Marcos publicly accused each other of drug influence. It escalated during Vice President Sara Duterte’s online press conference on Nov. 23 where she claimed she had prearranged the assassination of the first couple and Speaker Martin Romualdez in the event of her own death.
Despite the deepening conflict, the vice president continues to endorse reelectionist Sen. Imee Marcos, the president’s sister, in Monday’s elections. (AC)
