Marikina congressional bet Teodoro still a candidate

A Facebook post falsely claimed on election day that Marikina congressional candidate Marcelino Teodoro has been disqualified from the 2025 elections.
The graphic card posted by the page Sa Mundo ng Pasaring at 4:42 a.m., a few minutes before early voting for senior citizens, persons with disabilities and pregnant mothers started, reads:
Mayor Teodoro out of Marikina’s 2025 elections.
Teodoro’s name still appears on the certified list of candidates for the city of Marikina, on the official website of the Commission on Elections.
The election body said in a statement on March 26 Teodoro remains a valid candidate as long as there is no final court judgment on his case of alleged misuse of public funds.
Meanwhile, Marikina City Police arrested an individual for distributing prints from the tabloid Saksi with the headline:
It’s final! Marcy Teodoro diskwalipikado; boto kay Marcy, hindi na bibilangin (Marcy Teodoro disqualified; votes for Marcy won’t be counted)!
The same front page was reposted on Facebook by Gising Marikina at the same time as Sa Mundo ng Pasaring’s post. FactRakers previously debunked the claim.
As of writing, Sa Mundo ng Pasaring’s post has garnered 43 reactions, 37 comments, and 125 shares. Created in April 2023, the Facebook page gained over 2,000 likes and 2,700 followers. (MA)
