Multiple candidates running for local office in Malabon were falsely claimed to have been issued a “No Proclamation” order by the Comelec in two consecutive Facebook posts by the same page on the day of this year’s midterm elections.
The Facebook page Malabon Standard targeted lone district candidate Antolin “Lenlen” Aquino Oreta III, second district candidate and Jose Lorenzo “Enzo” Oreta from the National Unity Party; and mayoral candidate Jaye Lacson-Noel, vice mayoral candidate Angelika Dela Cruz and lone district candidate Bem Lacson Noel from the Nationalist People’s Coalition.
The first false claim was posted at 11:41 a.m., which bore the caption:

The Commission on Elections has issued a “No Proclamation” order against Jaye Lacson-Noel, Bem Noel, and Angelika Cruz after being involved in disqualification cases related to the 2025 local elections. According to the released document, the three candidates are facing complaints related to alleged vote buying, misuse of government funds and resources, and illegal use of campaign materials. Comelec’s investigation into the said cases is ongoing to determine whether the candidates are still qualified to assume office if found to have violated the Omnibus Election Code).
As of writing, there were no official announcements of disqualification cases and “No Proclamation” issued by Comelec against the five candidates in its website and social media platforms. However, news outlets have covered disqualification cases petitioned against them.
On April 30, the Manila Bulletin published a story on the filing of a disqualification case against congressional candidate Oreta, and councilor candidates Oreta and Joey Sabaricos. The petitioner, William C. Nicolas, alleged vote buying and violations of Section 89, Article X of the Omnibus Election Code. It claimed that “brown bags” containing street food and two P100 bills were distributed during a rally in Barangay Tonsuya, Malabon City on March 28.
As for the disqualification case against the three NPC candidates, the Manila Times posted on its Facebook page on May 7 that lawyer Jason Bernabe joined petitioner Mary Grace S. Reyes in filing a disqualification case against Lacson-Noel, Noel and Dela Cruz. The petition accuses the candidates of engaging in vote buying by allegedly offering financial assistance to students, misuse of government resources by Lacson-Noel, and irregular spending along with unaccounted barangay equipment linked to Dela Cruz.
However, at a May 10 press conference, Lacson-Noel along with her lawyers and the legal team of Noel and Dela Cruz, said the disqualification case against the three NPC candidates is fake as the signature of the alleged complainant, Reyes, was forged.
