There is no official result yet of the Counting for Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV), contrary to a claim that presidential aspirant Leni Robredo and her running mate Kiko Pangilinan attained landslide victory abroad.
Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 10695 states that canvassing of votes, including the OAV, will only be held after closing of polls tonight at 7pm, May 9.
In a Facebook post, an avid supporter of Vice President Robredo and Senator Pangilinan claimed that the tandem already won in different countries. She said:
Landslide victory for Leni-Kiko In USA, Italy, France and European countries #Halalan2022
The post received positive comments from the supporters of Robredo and Pangilinan.
In an interview with ANC today, COMELEC Acting Spokesperson Rex Laudiangco already clarified the process.
He said at 6:27 mark:
The closing of voting will be at 7pm. So at 7pm, there will be procedures which will be implemented by the electoral board. Included in this is the closing of the voting machine and afterwards we can proceed with the counting.
Several claims on vote tallies and candidates winning have already been fact checked by FactRakers.
